The challenge contained in the 1 energy is what you need to overcome in order to create the destiny of your choice.  Failing to learn these lessons acts as a barrier to your happiness and success.  In other words, this can be your downfall, if you allow it to be.  What makes the challenge so difficult to overcome is that you will tend to deny that it exists.  And the more you deny it, the more it will stand between you and your marvelous potential.

This is a challenge to your ability to speak up for yourself in order to get what you need out of life.  However, the problem is not with your communication skills, but with your constantly fluctuating ego.  When you lose self-respect, you can certainly give the impression that all is well in your world.  But what is really happening is that you are bottling up all your frustrations which you cannot express because you are afraid of rejection. Eventually, your feelings will overwhelm you and you will explode upon the unsuspecting people around you - usually the very people you fear rejection from.  They certainly do not enjoy your tantrums and outbursts.  And they probably wonder why you left it so long to make your needs known.

You do tend to allow uncomfortable situations to escalate without ever speaking up to clear the air.  1 is the number of CHANGE, INDEPENDENCE, SELF- AWARENESS, and LEADERSHIP.  You probably did not learn too much about these aspects as a child or, in the other extreme, too much self-reliance was expected of you.  Either way, when you tried to change things, think independently, lead your own life, or try to understand yourself, someone else jumped in and took away your sense of self control.

In order to turn this challenge into great creative talent, you must admit that you NEED to lead your own life in a way that suits you rather than others.  You need to focus on what you want out of life.  You need to focus on what it will take to fulfill your ambitions - and the chances are that you are very ambitious.

Take full responsibility for your life.  Believe in YOU.  Stop worrying about the expectations of other people.  Develop the courage to be yourself at all times, and you will find that others really do respect you and your ideas. Admit that you need to live according to your own creative needs.  Admit that you would like to be a leader of one kind or another.  When others seem to oppose you, don’t be afraid to discuss the situation.  There may be valuable information to gain from open debate.  Nobody can win every time.  But, with true belief in yourself, you can be one of life's winners.

Someone once said that “To be ourselves causes us to be exiled by many others and, yet, to comply with what others want, causes us to be exiles from ourselves”.  Your challenge is to find a balance between these two extremes; a balance which facilitates your need to be who you are and the patience and wisdom to accept the individuality of others too.
