Why do you say that the yearly cycle starts on January 1^st, when other numerologists say it starts on your birthday?

Which method you follow is your choice, but this is what I have found to be the most accurate, and why.

To calculate the personal year, we add the numbers of the day and month of birth to the specific numbers of the current calendar year. Numerological cycles are based on the calendar, and a calendar year always begins on January 1^st.  When you were born, the calendar cycle had already begun. You were born at a specific point within that cycle.
