2024 is an 8 GLOBAL YEAR (2+0+2+4=8), and the 8 energy represents all forms of POWER. The events of 2024 will keep us focused on what is happening in the material world, no matter how hard we try to distract ourselves. The 8 energy shows us how we are living, the good and the bad – and is an ideal gauge for understanding what needs to change if we are to survive this evolutional transition.

Every number has its own power, but the 8 energy contains the powers of all the other numbers combined, from 1 to 8, which results in the ultra-powerful (and enigmatic) 3 6 9 sequence.

1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8= 3+6 = 9

369 represents balance, communication, consistency, pattern, stability, competence, and changing our minds as new information emerges. 369 represents continuance and survival.

But because all numbers have their shadow side, 369 also causes laziness, stubbornness, repetition, rut,  addiction, and dogma. 369 can distract in order to deny our fear of having to learn something new, (which is what changing one’s mind entails).

8 is at the opposite end of 1. This creates a looping effect which presents us with what we most need to learn. The 8/1 combination churns it all up, and helps us to release ourselves from the results of past mistakes. Consequently, a tsunami of unpredictable events and circumstances are currently pushing their way forward.

People are angry and confused as their beliefs and expectations are turned upside down. It is exhausting, frightening, terribly sad, and enraging – yet filled with incentives to profoundly CHANGE ourselves and our world. What happens in 2024 can help us understand the many forms of power on Earth, including our own personal powers and special qualities.

8 also demonstrates how devastating the consequences can be when power is in unqualified or abusive hands – when power is used to overwhelm and disempower – and when different powers collide.

8 is associated with money and position and gives us a “return” on whatever we invest into life, making it the ultimate Karmic Number. Yes, what goes around comes around – “cause and effect”.

And what’s coming around now, is truth, pushing through the lies and false images that were fed to us by the old system of the 1000s. We can bury the truth as deep as we can dig, but kernels of truth are the seeds of life and do not die. They take root in the dirt they are buried in and push themselves up and out, until they emerge once again – as truth.

8 symbolizes INFINITY – ongoing life – existence – survival. Right now, this is most visible in the continuing slaughter of the Palestinian people. It is vital to keep in mind that Zionism is the fascistic ideology behind Israel’s colonization program – not Judaism. This catastrophic situation is the culmination of 75 years of gross maltreatment of the Palestinian people. I’ve been following it for at least 40 of those years, and my heart is breaking.

The targeting of civilians from any direction is wrong, and while every state has a right to defend itself, occupied states have the right to resist. That is the violent nature of occupation. But you don’t have to be pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli to denounce genocide. You just have to be a decent human being.

Humanity is in the evolutionary process of saving our own WILL. But colonization is the deliberate destruction of the WILL. That was the way of the 1000s, but in the transparency of the 2000s, people can see what’s really happening – overpowering, settling among, and establishing control over the indigenous people of an area, removing their basic rights.

There is an upsurge of indigenous people speaking out loudly now, in the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, the entire African continent, and other countries around the world. India and Pakistan (both nuclear powers now) were once one country, but were split in two by the British – and they did the same with Ireland and Northern Ireland.

The ferocious attempt to destroy democracy is partially the result of the two party political system in which LEFT and RIGHT are the only choices – making it easy to keep the people divided. The most basic marching order, “left right, left right, left right, reflects just how militarized our everyday lives actually are, and why many people believe that war is just part of human nature. It is not!

History is a long index of battles and suffering. But as a species, we lacked the VISION and the WILL to change the way we live. This year, the shadow side of 8 will try to force itself on the global population, while the positive power of 8, (and the fact that it contains the power of all the other numbers), can help us to open our imaginations as to how to counter this.

Reviving the POWER OF IMAGINATION is the basis of lasting change. Without that, everything is just a variation on the same old theme. It is through the imagination – the ability to ‘image-in’ an end result and find a way to make it materialize – that humanity will ever free itself. Please, let’s not cause our own extinction through lack of ideas, lack of vision, lack of imagination.

During the occupation of Atlanta in 1864, General William Sherman wrote “War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it.“  Some years later, as he addressed cadets at Michigan Military Academy, he modified that sentiment into three powerful words which have echoed their way through time, to this very day.

He said, “WAR IS HELL”.

Yes, war is hell right here on Earth. WARS DO NOT END. They go into quiet phases (which we mistakenly call “peace”), only to be sparked back into fighting form at some later date. There’s a LOT of money to be made from war, from the arms industry which kills and destroys, and an army of contractors, including the reconstruction industry that comes in during the “peace” and builds it all back up again. A lot of money. War profiteering. A lot of pain and suffering. A lot of death. And the unimaginable traumatization of survivors that is imprinted from one generation to the next.

The shadow side of 8 is the BULLY – and the bullies of this world are in full swing. But bullies are frightened people – afraid of being exposed as incompetent and weak, and to compensate for that, they demonstrate and even compete as to just how cruel they can be. The bully is a coward who needs to bully in order to FEEL powerful – and so the bullying intensifies.

Bullying is a principal tactic of the anti-democracy force. Democracy is fragile and far from perfect, but it is the closest we have come to FREE WILL. Democracy is severely damaged by corrupt politicians, lobbies or “special interests”, cash enticement, bribery, and blackmail, (including nuclear blackmail which threatens, “I’ll blow it all up, including myself, if I don’t get what I want”.) The bully is most dangerous when cornered.

8 is the number of SATISFACTION – knowing when enough is enough. But when 8 is abused and misunderstood, GREED takes control. Greed is the opposite of satisfaction. It can never get enough, even when it appears to have it all, because it is so afraid of losing or sharing what it already has!

The greedy need to control everything, including other people’s personal lives, thoughts, feelings, and needs! This greedy system tells us that we must do what it says or some terrible fate will befall us. It tells us we cannot expect privacy. It tells us that, in such a dangerous world, we have no rights at all.

And why the allegiance to Russia? Money and power. Putin’s Russia is the epitome of patriarchy (white male domination) and oligarchy (rule by the wealthy), which appeals to many people in the West who are still living in the past.

The human WILL is pulling itself out of a very dark place – but we have been programmed to believe that the WILL – feminine energy – emotion – IS the darkness. But the vibrations of our emotions give movement TO the darkness, the deadness of which would otherwise consume us. Emotion is our HONESTY which is trying to bring balance into this maliciously dishonest world.

Feminine energy has been kept down by a system of male supremacy which also comes from a position of greed (not wanting to share power). That system is now so out of balance that it is falling apart, destroying huge swaths of life in the process. The greedy are not aware of their own self-destruction because they are in the darkest place of all. DENIAL. Denial of reality IS the darkness that has descended on Earth. Yet somehow, humanity is emerging from this prison as our feminine emotions awaken our masculine minds.

If you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.

It is not just our own WILL that we need to free – what we are seeing in Gaza and around the world is CAPTURED WILL, LOST WILL, KILLING THE WILL. Whatever we can do to rescue lost Will, we must do. Figuring out how to do this, is a major task of these times.

8 teaches us that power, in any form, cannot be maintained without BALANCE, and that balance cannot hold without intelligent and competent handling. 8 is associated with money, business, competition, and the incorporation of anything it finds useful. It is widely believed that those are the principal means of gaining power in the world. The belief that “money is power” sprang from this shortsighted view. When knowledge is manipulated to gain power, true balance and accurate understanding are lost.

The purpose of 8 is not to exploit the material plane (Mother Nature and her resources), but to keep our material planet alive and well!  We forget that MOTHER NATURE is the greatest power of all when it comes to life on this planet. Too little attention is being paid to the drastic changes taking place in the natural world. Taking control of those resources, whether it is the land itself or what lies under the land, is a large part of what colonialism is all about.

Making things even more unstable is the fact that 2024 is a LEAP YEAR, which has 366 days instead of the usual 365. Every four years, an extra day is inserted at the end of February so that the calendar remains in alignment with Earth’s movement around the sun. While this keeps the calendar intact and reflects the timing of the seasons, it also produces a vibrational “wobble” in the day-to-day numeric flow which affects us for the entire year.

Meanwhile, the decade of the 2020s is the point in the new millennium when the past catches up with us here in the present. Memories are breaking through and confusing a lot of people. Issues we thought were “behind” us, never actually left, but were left unresolved.

The term “20/20 HINDSIGHT” was originally a sports analogy, but soon became synonymous with any situation in which we cannot see what led up to an event until the event was happening or had passed. Now, the term “20/20 HINDSIGHT” has found its place in the decade of the 2020s. It is SO important to recognize what led to the current reality. That is why this system has taken to book-banning and destroying records of historical fact, just as the Nazis did in the 1930s; and the Taliban did in the early 2000s, and along with other tyrannical regimes, are still doing,

To plan forward, we must look back and determine where we went wrong so that we do not repeat the same mistakes. The decade of the 2020s is a time to develop our mental and emotional VISION – the ability to see beyond the limits and obstacles. From accurate hindsight, we develop accurate foresight.

8 is the number of MANIFESTATION because it produces results and outcomes. And because 8 contains the energy of all the other numbers, its karmic properties are intense. Karma is simple physics – the laws of cause and effect. And since the old system is based on money and materiality, we can be sure that economic and property matters will be front and center at some point in 2024, possibly reaching a climax in August and September since both of those months contain double-8 energy.

One of 8‘s powers is APPRECIATION. To appreciate means to understand the value, magnitude, or consequence of something. Yes, knowledge IS power, but only if it is correctly understood. Limited understanding can cause more harm than good.

To APPRECIATE also means being grateful for what we’ve already got, but we are conditioned to want more, even when we have plenty. There is no other number that brings out our tendency for greed like 8.

APPRECIATION increases the value of what we already have, and produces empathy for those who have nothing. 8 is the number of abundance, and in this abundant world, poverty should not exist.

8 helps us to develop a balanced understanding of OUR OWN VALUE. And because all evolutionary movement starts within, it is very much a matter of how you FEEL about and appreciate yourself!

The vulgar side of 8 has no concept of humility or the power that humility holds. Being humble does not require us to be less than we are. Humility means being ALL that we are, our real, unpretentious, authentic SELVES.

We cannot move safely into the 2000s, until we learn this vital lesson from the 1000s: FREE WILL is the freedom to be YOU. As Gandhi once said, in his resistance to British colonialism, “I want freedom for the full expression of my personality.”

He also said, “Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable WILL.”

FREE WILL starts with freedom of expression. If we cannot express how we feel, we cannot attain what we need or want. Without freedom of expression, the mind ceases to function in any way that could be helpful to us, and we are fed information by those whose grasp of reality is inadequate, leaving us unable to recognize reality for ourselves. Illusions are constructed to trick us, convince us, and keep us in line. But in the transparency of the 2000s, we can see through the ruses and ulterior motives if we look deeply enough.

1 is the number of the SELF, the INDIVIDUAL, and the lesson involved is that of genuine SELF-ACCEPTANCE. Only then can we genuinely accept the individuality of others. Only then can the archaic notion of “supremacy” give way to BALANCE and PEACE. There are no “chosen people” or “genetically superior” people.

The old masculine system of the 1000s disempowered the people by subduing our feminine ability to FEEL and SENSE – so that most people had only a basic understanding of how the system worked. Here in the feminine 2000s, rescuing our individual and collective WILL is the task of our individual and collective lifetimes. Without a fully functioning WILL, we can be forced to do anything – “against our Will”. 

The powerful impact that women are having in the world shows that the WILL is breaking out of it suppression, which in turn is enabling men to feel more deeply than stereotyped masculinity ever allowed them to. But the war on women all over the world is very real. And as long as women’s rights remain in the hands of men, the world will remain dangerously imbalanced.

The power of 2 enables us to know what is appropriate for a particular situation, and why what is appropriate for one may not be appropriate for someone else. 2 enables us to know not only what is needed, but how much is needed, and knowing when to stop. Without a fully functioning memory, we cannot make those assessments and must resort to a “one size fits all” mentality, which is totally unrealistic.

We are conditioned by a shallow, monotonous existence which disables us from appreciating our true powers as human beings. Do we really think that this shallowness – this constant misery and destruction which passes as “life” is the full extent of what life on Earth can BE? What WE human BE-ings can BE?

Paradoxically, this shallowness runs very deep.

Without a deeper understanding of the term “we are one”, we will never be able to fathom or tolerate different points of view, and it is from that uncompromising position that the notion of supremacy and the need to dominate others emerged.

The fact that we are taking the first step – from 1 (self and new beginnings) to 2 (others and relationship) – suggests that as a species, we are in our infancy. We think we know so much, but we have not even touched the surface yet.

Numerologist Greer Jonas recently made a fascinating observation about this transition from 1 to 2. She wrote:

‘1’ – A NEW BEGINNING

The baby is born. Emerging from its womb. Here is the “1”. A brand new beginning. Empty of all knowledge. Eyes slowly open to learn and observe. What does this soul like? What does this soul need? And what about fear? The newborn knows nothing but ‘self’. Only through observation and experience will the child discover their personal journey.

‘2’ – THE CONNECTION

Mom comes in and picks up baby. Wide-eyed, “Who is this?”, the baby wonders. Baby stares, baby cries, mom reacts. Baby learns to communicate. Learning the many forms of love, companionship, connection with another, and balance unfolds. The big discovery is which method produces the best result.

And so we observe the duality of life. I See You. You See Me. I share my heart. You share yours. We connect, yet we are ‘two’.

And here we are, “Greer’s Baby”, becoming more aware of our senses, and learning as we go. But who is the loving Mother who picks us up and connects with us? It is the feminine emotional energy that we ALL possess, (regardless of physical gender), and through which we are ALL evolving.

The objective is to find a way to become a different kind of human being – to evolve into something better and more beautiful than we currently are, starting on the inside and exuding that energy outwardly. To evolve is to reinvent ourselves in a way that not only sustains the gravity and dangers of these times, but also paves the way forward…

Humanity is coming out of its infancy and growing up. Taking our first step out of the electrical 1000s and into the potential balance of the magnetic 2000s. Eventually, this transition will bring us out of the shallows and shadows and help us to achieve true balance on Earth – which is LOVE. But moving through the HATE will not be easy. What’s happening now, in so many different areas of life, is paving the way for some very difficult times ahead.

Empires rise and fall. This is the time of empires falling and they are fighting it with all the power at their disposal. But there are powers greater than theirs. The cycles of time, for instance, cannot be held back.

I think it’s likely that most of us chose to be here on Earth, at this particular time, to help bring this evolutionary phase to completion. And some people chose to be here to prevent it. The past is at war with the present because it is afraid of the future. But time moves forever forward. The future will prevail.
